Sunburn is proud to bring you yet another chapter in San Francisco's electronic music legacy, A Stereo Couple, the first full-length release from The Infinite Posse. The one-man-gang behind the curtain is none other than ex-Birmingham, Alabama boy Lee Howard, a soft-spoken classically-trained guitarist who saw the light in electronic music and set off west to soak in the California afterglow. On he came, and the past year has seen Lee get hooked up with Sunburn as well as a few critically praised compilation appearances (notably "Blue" on Wish FM 97.1 (Domestic) and "Gia" on Audio Alchemy 2 (Ubiquity)) that have put The Posse on the map. A Stereo Couple is the result of Mr. Howard fusing his backgrounds of a classical music education and all-night raving; electronic music with organic components, or is it vice-versa?
With influences ranging from sources as wide as Ride and 4AD, Stevie Wonder, The Jackson 5, Luke Vibert and Motorbass, it's not hard to see where he's coming from yet the result is refreshingly personal and original. With vocalist and collaborator Adie White perfectly complimenting Lee's production, her riffs and lyrics weaving around layers of sound, the album flows like mercury from introspective three-quarter time hip hop and dancefloor-shaking Detroitesque house to energetic vocal jungle. This is a perfect album for lazy Sunday afternoons and smoky club scenes, for meditation and reflection and especially for slow dancing
