In previous incarnations as both "red seal" and "kilowatt", Paul Dering and Glenn Nash released records through New Order manager Rob Gretton´s label ´Rob´s Records.
Widespread acclaim came for the few gems which were released, most notably "space 1999" which was a massive underground hit in the US and got the boys over to Orlando to DJ and play live on New Years Eve 1996.
Also known as "koolaid" for their sporadic remix work, they have done mixes for INTASTELLA, A Certain Ratio and most recently "Allmighty Senators" which is due for release on Pharm Records (home of blueboy) in the UK.
NorthWestCoast is a collection of Freeloaders greatest studio moments to date and is the product of 12 months working with Martin Moscrop of A Certain Ratio who lends his inimitable production style to both finished tunes and extended studio jams (several of which are present here).
The freeloaders sound, based in electro rhythms, keeps the broader picture of dance music in it´s sights when it stretches from dub to jazz in one almost indiscernible sweep coupled with hard edged acid workouts and crisp house beats.
The freeloaders suit their new found home at sunburn perfectly, they didn´t even have to move the furniture around and NorthWestCoast will be appreciated equally on the dancefloors of the more open-minded clubs and by the housebound headnodders who reckon they´ve seen it all before.
